There are various treatment options available for animals. Different tumour types may require different treatment approaches. Additionally, depending on the situation, a combination of treatments might be necessary.

For example, surgery and/or radiation can be used to obtain local tumour control. Surgery enables removal of the tumour through excision, radiotherapy treats cancer cells in the surrounding tissues via radioactive or ionizing beams.

For tumours that have metastasized, chemo and/or immunotherapy can be used. Chemotherapy uses strong drugs to kill cancer cells, immunotherapy kills cancer cells by activating the immune system against them.
